I believe in treating each patient as I would a member of my own family. I believe in a balanced approach to medicine; taking into account the physical, mental, and spiritual health of my patients. Advantages of an Ophthalmologist
All "eye doctors" are not the same. What is the difference between an ophthalmologist and an optometrist? The short answer is about 5 more years of post graduate medical training.
An optometrist has only 4 years of training with an emphasis in how to fit glasses and contacts. In contrast, an ophthalmologist is a physician who specializes in the diagnosis and medical and surgical treatment of diseases and defects of the eye and related structures. This requires a minimum 9 years of post graduate medical training.
